Phthalic acid esters (PAEs) and adipates are plasticizers with high applicability in several products and building materials (e.g. cosmetics, packing) very persistent in the environment, features which render them ubiquitous pollutants. These substances can contaminate food through the environment (water, air, and soil) and/or migration from packaging materials, which creates a health concern due to their toxicity. This paper describes an eco-friendly dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) procedure to extract five phthalates and bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate (DEHA) from bottled herbal-based beverages followed by GC-MS/MS quantification. The method showed low limits of detection (5.0-13 μg L-1) and quantification (20-35 μg L-1), good inter- and intraday precision (RSD? less then ?19%), and recoveries ranging from 82 to 111%. It was applied to 16 real samples, of which 13 showed the presence of at least one of the analytes under study. Additionally, an exposure assessment was performed, and resulted in a hazard quotient less than 1 (HQ? less then ?1) for all analytes. Therefore, PAEs and DEHA found in samples do not pose a health issue.Bilateral endoscopic nasal surgery is usually associated with pain and sleep disturbance. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of dexmedetomidine-soaked nasal packing on analgesia and improvement of sleep quality in patients undergoing this surgery.
Eighty patients were enrolled and randomly allocated into 4 groups. At the end of surgery, dexmedetomidine-soaked nasal packings were applied to three groups with a dosage of 1 μg kg(D1), 2μg kg(D2), 4 μg kg(D4) and normal saline-soaked nasal packing (NS) was applied to a fourth group. The primary outcome was postoperative pain scores using a visual analog scale (VAS)recorded at six time points before the surgery (T1); 2 h (T2), 8 h (T3), 24 h (T4), 48 h (T5) after surgery; and at the moment of nasal packing removal (T6). Secondary outcomes were postoperative sleep status evaluated by the Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) and subjective sleep quality value (SSQV). Factors affecting sleep, hemodynamic changes, and adverse events were also recorded.
Compared with the NS group, dexmedetomidine-soaked nasal packing significantly relieved postoperative pain and improved sleep quality. The effect was similar between D2 and D4, which was greater than in D1. However, D2 was associated with fewer adverse events.
Dexmedetomidine-soaked nasal packing not only offers effective analgesia but also improves postoperative sleep quality in patients undergoing bilateral endoscopic nasal surgery. Taking effect and adverse events into consideration, a dosage of 2μg kgmay be optimal.

We included observational studies that evaluated the health-related quality of life of patients with OSA vs control groups, through generic and disease-specific questionnaires. The searches were conducted in six databases Embase, Lilacs, PsycINFO, PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. Additional search in the grey literature and hand search were performed, and also experts were consulted. Risk of bias was performed by using Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal Checklist for cross-sectional, cohort, and case-control studies. We analyzed the data using a narrative synthesis. The Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation evidence profile was used to verify the overall certainty of the assessed evidence.
Nineteen studies were included for qualitative analysis. Generic questionnaires showed worse HRQoL in the OSA group compared to the control group in at least one domain of the HRQoL questionnaires. The affected domains that showed statistical and clinically relevant differences were physical functioning, physical role, pain, general health, vitality, emotional role, and mental health. The certainty of evidence assessment was very low.
The available literature suggests that OSA in untreated adults is associated with worse HRQoL. However, this association seems to disappear when we consider only studies adjusted for related covariates.

CRD42018114746.This study aimed to annotate the role of long intergenic non-coding RNA 152 (LINC00152) in CD8+ T cells mediated immune responses in gastric cancer (GC) and the underlying mechanism. LINC00152 expression levels were detected through RT-PCR. For tumor engraftment, HGC-27 cells that received LINC00152 shRNA, LINC00152 overexpression vectors, enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) shRNA or combination transfection were injected into mice. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/pbit.html Chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) assay was used to explore the interaction between LINC00152, Cys-X-cys ligand 9 (CXCL9) and Cys-X-cys ligand 10 (CXCL10). Flow cytometry was adopted to measure the CD8+ T-cell infiltration in tumor issue. In this study, we found increased LINC00152 expression levels are positively associated with the poor prognosis of GC patients and negatively associated with the CD8 levels. ChIP assay verified that LINC00152 recruits EZH2 to the promoters of CXCL9 and CXCL10, thus the silencing of LINC00152 promoted the production of CXCL9 and CXCL10. Knockdown of LINC00152 suppressed tumor cells growth in vivo and in vitro, increased tumor-infiltrating CD8+ T cells numbers and promoted the expression of CXCL9, CXCL10 and C-X-C Motif Chemokine Receptor 3 (CXCR3) in xenograft tumors. While CD8+ T cell depletion reversed the tumor suppression effect of LINC00152 silence. Besides, the silencing of EZH2 partly inhibited the promotion effect LINC00152 on tumor growth. Our study indicated that LINC00152 inhibition suppressed the tumor progress may through promoting CD8+ T-cell infiltration.Malnutrition contributes to the occurrence of osteoporosis. This study showed that participants with higher GNRI values had higher levels of BMD. GNRIs were positively correlated with BMD and independently associated with total hip T-score. GNRIs may be a good indicator for identifying elderly who need further bone health nutritional support. To evaluate the relationship between geriatric nutrition risk index (GNRI) and bone mineral density (BMD) in elderly Chinese people.
We recruited 1130 older adults (60-89 years old) between May 2018 and December 2019. Participants underwent clinical, laboratory, and densitometry examinations. Dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry densitometers and corresponding software were used to assess the BMD and T-scores of participants. Differences between study groups were assessed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) for continuous variables and the chi-square test for categorical variables. Pearson's correlation coefficient was used to assess the correlation between two variables.
